The Kennington Kitchen opportunity is an exciting idea whereby we aim to use the project to engage with isolated adults and school age children in healthy eating activities. We envision an eating and cooking space where young people and adults can come together to share their stories with one another and eat good, healthy food at an affordable price. Learning how to live healthy and in eating well is critical to children’s development. Archbishop Sumner School is diverse and represents the community it serves in Kennington.
We have an outside area, currently underused as a car park. We want to transform this into the Kennington Kitchen, a multi-used area.
We plan to utilize this space to hold gatherings to bring the wider community together over healthy, freshly prepared meals and to learn about healthy eating and have fun doing it.
